Dress code

Sixth Form Dress Code

 

Students in the Sixth Form are role models for the rest of the school, which includes the way you dress. Students are expected to dress smartly and appropriately for school. Any student dress inappropriately will be sent home to change.

 

General

No denim; no hoodies; no midriffs; no large tattoos on show; no sportswear (unless you have changed into it for a sports lesson)

Head wear

  • Outdoor hats worn outdoors
  • Cultural headwear
  • Outdoor hats worn indoors, including form and study periods
  • Baseball caps
  • Hoods up inside

Tops

  • Smart shirts tucked in and worn with a tie (this can be replaced by a smart polo shirt in the summer term)
  • Smart blouses or tops
  • Smart jumpers, cardigans, blazers/jackets
  • Sports tops including football tops and zipped tops
  • Tops with a large logo/image/slogan
  • Ripped/torn clothing
  • Sheer clothing
  • Low necklines, crops tops, tops with thin straps
  • Denim

Leg wear

  • Smart trousers
  • Smart skirts or dresses of an appropriate length (over half way down the thigh)

 

  • Leggings
  • Tracksuits
  • Shorts/skorts
  • Denim
  • Ripped/torn clothing
  • Mini-skirts/dresses

Footwear

  • Smart shoes/boots
  • Smart pumps that are one colour only
  • Trainers
  • Pumps with more than one colour
  • Flip-flops, sliders, crocs
  • Ugg-style boots
  • Inappropriate high heels

Outdoor clothing

  • Practical coats
  • Denim jackets
  • Hoodies
  • Outdoor clothing worn indoors

Other

  • Simple jewellery
  • Natural looking make-up
  • Nail polish/acrylic nails of an appropriate length
  • Dyed hair
  • Inappropriate jewellery
  • Heavy make-up
  • Nails that are too long to safely carry out daily academic tasks
  • Large tattoos on show

Exceptions

There may be times when the weather may make it appropriate to temporarily adjust the dress code. This will be decided by us and clearly communicated.
